Port Sydney man sentenced for Christmas Day police chase

A Port Sydney man who led police on a dangerous chase has been sentenced to five years in prison.
On Tuesday, 59-year-old Dennis Wilson was sentenced for various charges including escaping custody, flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Wilson was arrested on Christmas morning last year after setting off the alarm at the Bracebridge Pharma Plus and then leading police on a chase to Port Sydney.
His vehicle crashed into a tree while he was travelling down Deer Lake Road.
He has already served four months of jail time while in custody.
