New CT scanner up and running at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital
The installation of a new CT scanner is complete at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.
Following a few weeks of renovations for the new scan suite, the scanner is ready to use.
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare officials say the scanner gives doctors the ability to examine a three-dimensional image.
The scanner was broken in by Gravenhurst resident Fay Buck on April 6th.
Officials say SMMH has about 10,000 scans completed annually.
The new scanner was able to be purchased through fundraising efforts from the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation.
