Muskoka, Parry Sound and Haliburton are under a Water Safety advisory from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

Following weeks of flood conditions, the MNRF has downgraded Muskoka to this new advisory.

Officials say that most water flows are within the typical range for this time of year.

The only exceptions are Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph, where water levels are still above normal.

These levels are expected to go down over the next week.

However, officials are warning residents in all areas that fast flowing water and slippery banks can be hazardous.

Residents in these areas should avoid rivers and lakes as the water temperatures are still very cold.
