Council has agreed on a plan to accept the $64,739 bid by Greenaway Construction for a steel pile dock. Lake of Bays Mayor Bob Young says a design of the project is expected at next month’s meeting.
The project partner SS Bigwin had originally agreed to a $15,000 contribution. But, due to financial difficulties they were only able to contribute $5,000.
The mayor says the township was honoured to be offered any money.
The funding for the project will now be taken out of the township’s General Reserve Fund instead of the parks’ reserve.
