There is a chance 69 extra dock slips may be coming to a marina in the Township of Muskoka Lakes.
On Friday morning, township officials held a public meeting regarding a proposal to expand the dock at the Cove Marine and Recreation Centre in Foots Bay on Lake Joseph. Council heard from property owners and cottagers during the meeting and decided to hold a public meeting for a future date.
Muskoka Lakes Mayor Don Furniss says a solution needs to be worked out before anything can happen.
He says there is an issue because of a bylaw that doesn’t allow municipal docks to expand to a certain length.
No date has been set for the public meeting but some council members believe it should be within the next couple of weeks.
