High Water Levels Reported in Oxtongue River of Algonquin Park

The high waters in Oxtongue River have caused some trail closures in Algonquin Park.

Ontario Parks says the Whiskey Rapids Trail near Highway 60 is closed as a result of the high waters. Park officials also add it’s preventing access to the Western Upland Backpacking Trail, flooding on the north side of the bridge is making the trail impassable.

During the spring melt, visitors are asked to avoid areas of high water and flooding.
