Bracebridge committee looks to raise student interest in active transportation

Bracebridge officials are hoping to increase interest in kids to use active transportation in Muskoka.
The Environmental Advisory Committee is putting together the final pieces of the Walk and Roll initiative.
Deputy Mayor Rick Maloney says the event would see elementary school students using environmentally friendly alternatives to get to school.
Maloney says a subcommittee has been in contact with Trillium Lakelands District School Board to partner on the initiative and plan safe routes to school.
He adds they have also been in touch with Bracebridge OPP to have officers actively involved in the event as well.
Walk and Roll is tentatively set for June 1st and more details will be released in the near future.
