If you’re collecting clippings and brush for the burn pile this spring, Gravenhurst fire officials are reminding you, don’t light that fire during the day.
As of today, a daytime burn ban is in effect for all of Gravenhurst.
Fire Prevention Officer Rob King says lower-than-usual snowfall amounts have left the area more susceptible to quickly spreading fires.
And, as we move closer to summer weather, King is reminding residents to be aware of full-day fire bans before lighting a fire at any time.

He urges residents to consider using landfills for disposing of brush and refuse from spring cleaning.
