Graduation is on the horizon for high school students in Muskoka, and with it, the possibility of moving onto post-secondary education.
While college and university can be financially daunting, one school official says there are many ways to help lessen the blow when it comes to paying for tuition.
Guidance Counsellor with St. Dominic Catholic High School Jennifer Starratt says there are many types of scholarships available to a variety of students.
If you can’t find a scholarship locally, Starratt says another source is the website yconic.
She says the application deadlines may vary, but if you haven’t started yet, you may want to start looking now to apply for scholarships.
The Financial Post recently reported there are millions of scholarship dollars left unused each year.
