Nipissing Muskoka campus should continue as post-secondary institution say residents
Over 70 people attended a public forum to talk about the future of the Nipissing University campus in Bracebridge.
On Tuesday evening, Bracebridge council met with the public at the Bracebridge Sportsplex to get an idea of what residents would like to see happen with the property when Nipissing eventually pulls out.
Deputy Mayor Rick Maloney says, while there were some very good ideas, there was one that seemed to have majority support.
Maloney says there has been some discussion with Georgian College and Nipissing has approached a few other post-secondary institutions as well concerning taking over the building, but none have expressed any interest at this point.
He adds the Nipissing-Bracebridge working committee will continue to pursue this option as a priority.
