Huntsville gets nearly $400,000 to better educate community volunteers
The Town of Huntsville has $388,400 to expand their volunteer program. The funding came from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Community Engagement Coordinator Scott Ovell says this will help the Town better educate volunteers.
The volunteer program is a joint effort between the Town and the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce. He says having this program is a great benefit for the business community as well
It’s the largest grant the Ontario Trillium Foundation has ever given out. The funds will be rolled out over five years and go towards volunteer skills development training, hiring staff and matching volunteers with local organizations.
