Think railway safety

Residents are encouraged to think about rail safety this week. Starting today, it’s public rail safety week across Canada where it’s in the public’s interest to raise awareness on reducing avoidable accidents, injuries, and damage caused by collisions at level railway crossings. Operation Lifesaver is a public/private partnership aimed at rail companies, governments, police services, the media, and other agencies working together to raise public rail safety awareness. In addition to Operation Lifesaver initiatives, the Town of Parry Sound has written to both CN and CP to encourage them to come into the community to speak with residents.
