Witness calls dog owner irresponsible for letting his pet into the fast flowing waters in Bracebridge Bay

Another witness has come forward about the dog seen struggling in Bracebridge Bay story.
On Tuesday evening Ashley Ross says she saw a man throw a stick into the river which the dog then jumped in to retrieve. Ross tells the Moose the dog had trouble getting back to shore the first time and then the man threw the stick in again.

The fire department was called by another witness, but couldn’t find the owners or the dog. It’s not known if the dog survived after the man was seen yelling frantically as it was having trouble making it to shore.

While the action didn’t break a law, Muskoka OSPCA branch manager Jane McCamus urges people to keep themselves and their pets away from lakes and rivers as has already been stressed by police in the interests of safety.
