A woman from Huntsville has been appointed as a Vice President to the Board of Directors of World YWCA.
Katie Ungard is a University of Guelph and York graduate and was named as one of the members with the board at their Geneva World Council meeting in October last year. She was one of the two Canadians chosen.
She was hired by the YWCA in 2010 and has served as a Youth-Eco Intern. Ungard was also nominated to the Canadian Board.
In 2013 she also was a keynote speaker at Women of Distinction in Muskoka and spoke about the value and importance of mentorship.
Officials with YWCA Muskoka say they are very proud of Katie and her new role.
