No injuries or leaks from train derailment in Magnetawan First Nation

A train derailment is being investigated near Byng Inlet.

West Parry Sound OPP says they were called to the CP derailment in Magnetawan First Nation this morning around 6:45am.

The derailment happened north of Highway 645 where the CP tracks intersect with Highway 529 and as a result, Highway 529 is closed.

Spokesman with CP Andy Cummings says there were no injuries or leaks involved in the derailment.

Cummings says they are working to clear the roadway.

The high was re-opened officially just after midnight.

Cummings says there were no injuries and the cause of the derailment is still under investigation.
