Algonquin Park has hired a youth intern on a full-time basis after a FedNor grant helped with tourism in the area.
Park officials say they received a $31,500 grant from FedNor to maximize the tourism potential in the area. With the investment, the park hired a youth intern for a one-year period. As a result of the investment, the organization hired the intern.
Over the past year, park officials have developed programs to educate and inform tourists to promote the history of the park.
