A Barrie man is facing numerous charges after a traffic stop in Stirling Falls.

Police say last week they stopped the man’s vehicle on Highway 11 near Robin Road. After investigation, the man was arrested for drinking and driving. Once the man was in custody, he began to resist arrest and assaulted the officer.

The 27-year-old was charged with three counts of drinking and driving, failing to comply with probation and assaulting a police officer.

He is expected to appear in court at the end of the month.
