Winter Camping and Activities Highly Recommended in Muskoka by MNR

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry would like everyone to explore provincial parks this year.

One of their recommendations is to try something different like winter camping. Officials say there are plenty of places to camp in Muskoka such as Algonquin Park and Arrowhead Park. Ontario Parks Official Sheila Wiebe says sometimes winter camping is a better experience.

One winter activity that is getting lots of recognition is the skating trail at Arrowhead. Parks Official Sheila Wiebe says each year it continues to get busier.

She recommends early mornings are the best times to skate on the ice. It’s less crowded and the ice should be in good condition.
