Fire at Beaver Ridge Estates destroys two mobile homes, causes over $300,000 in damages
The Gravenhurst Fire Department estimates the blaze that destroyed two mobile homes this afternoon caused over $300,000 damage. Two other mobile homes at the Beaver Ridge Estates also suffered heavy damage and Fire Chief Larry Brassard says another four suffered minor damage. The call came in at 2:40pm today. Brassard says no official cause has been determined. The Chief says community response to those displaced by the fire is overwhelming so far, with people rallying to provide clothing and other services. Some of those who suffered losses may not have had insurance, he said. While no residents were injured in the fire, some firefighters suffered from heat exhaustion. Brassard says two cats remain missing.
