Sidewalk smoking still a concern outside Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School

Smoking is still an issue outside Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School. This week, councilors heard from the school’s Principal Dave Golden who confirmed that a teacher is speaking with students about keeping the location clean of cigarette butts and litter. The Town and neighbors are also concerned about the optics of students smoking out front of the school, which is attached to the Bracebridge Sportsplex. Students face a $305 fine if caught having a puff on school property and the sidewalk is the closest piece of land where they can legally smoke if they are the right age.
