A bridge on Stephenson Road 1 in Muskoka may soon get replaced.
Bracebridge and Huntsville councils are working together to apply for funding to have the old bridge replaced.
Deputy Mayor Rick Maloney says time has taken its toll on this structure.
Maloney says the bridge falls on the borders of both communities and is the responsibility of both Bracebridge and Huntsville.
Both councils have applied for funding from the government for 90 per cent of the cost, which is about $3 million.
He says that if they can secure the funding for 2016, that they can start replacing it at that point.
