Both Ontario teams came out on top in their Day 1 games at the National Women’s Under-18 Hockey Championships.

The prime-time game was at 7:30pm as Ontario Red defeated Quebec 2-1. After watching Ontario Blue defeat Atlantic 4-1, Ontario Red Head Coach Jessica Turi says this was a huge win for her team.

In the 2nd period of their game against Quebec, Ontario Red had 21 shots on net while only allowing 5. Coach Turi says the message was simple after the first.

Both Ontario teams play again today as Red will battle Saskatchewan at 4:30pm and right after it’s Blue taking on Alberta at 7:30pm.
