A Bracebridge man is in hot water after allegedly shooting a black bear that was wandering on his property.

The bear was shot Sunday evening on Pinewood Drive and police were called out.

The Ministry of Natural Resources was involved as well.

Police conducted an investigation and have now charged the 65-year-old man with careless use of a firearm.

His court date has been set for December 1st in Bracebridge Provincial Court.

He may still face charges from the MNR as their investigation is still ongoing.
