Before the snow falls, the Ministry of Natural Resources is asking everyone to not feed the deer.

But, there are ways you can help them out.

Feeding artificial foods to deer can increase the risk of metabolic changes and diseases. Biologist with the MNR, Leeanne Leduc says if deer continue to hang around backyards, there are some different ways to help them get through the winter.

She says deer normally look to stems and trees as a food source in the winter since they have already consumed most of their natural food over the spring and summer seasons.
