Muskoka runners are racing at the Boston Marathon
The Boston Marathon will have one of our local runners racing. Troy Cox is a member of the Muskoka Algonquin Runners Club. The SportLab’s Lowell Grieb says he is going to do well.
Troy came in first in the half marathon at last year’s Band on the Run in Huntsville and was seventh in the Toronto Marathon. Bracebridge’s Marie Malcolm is on the Ultra Possible team and will be at the marathon as well.
Meantime, security has been ramped up at the event. Last year, two pressure cooker bombs went off during the race killing three people and injuring over 260. There are over 35-thousand runners this year. Today is also Patriots Day in the US.
