Current Bracebridge flood situation is a tale of two rivers

There’s some good news and some bad news. First the good – Bracebridge’s Public Works Boss Walt Schmid reports flow levels on the Black River are receding and will likely continue to throughout the day. But the situation on the North and South branches of the Muskoka River is different. Schmid says the flow levels on the North branch are slowly increasing and the flows on the south branch are increasing at an even slightly higher rate. He says the Town expects these areas to get increased elevations to flood levels over the next little while. There is no significant rainfall over the next few days which is a good thing.
