The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) has given Muskoka Conservancy $69,200 for a new program. The organization is partnering with Westwind Forest Stewardship to create a healthy trees program over the course of two years. Muskoka Conservancy’s Executive Director Kristie Virgoe says it’s focused on providing private landowners outreach.

Westwind Forest Stewardship is a non-profit organization, based out of Parry Sound, which organizes ecologically sustainable forest management. Muskoka Conservancy is working on launching the program soon.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation is the largest grant foundation in Canada, giving out about 1,300 grants every year. Virgoe says OTF is really important for organizations like Muskoka Conservancy.
