Special weather statement in effect as wild spring continues

Environment Canada says the roller coaster of weather continues this spring with a special weather statement in effect for Muskoka and Parry Sound. Forecasters say a disturbance near the gulf coast will intensify and track toward the Lower Great Lakes tomorrow. Rain is expected over parts of Southern Ontario during the day, reaching Georgian Bay in the evening. The rain may then quickly change to heavy wet snow, mainly over the higher terrain of Dundalk and Haliburton Highlands. A significant accumulation of ten centimetres or more is possible in those areas before the snow tapers off early Tuesday. Then just days later the warmest weather of the season is likely, with temperatures on Thursday expected to climb as high as the mid-teens.
