Huntsville hands termination notice to the executive director of public infrastructure

Huntsville’s Public Infrastructure executive director has confirmed he’s been let go. After some confusion about whether or not Matthew Hartney was fired, Hartney tells The Moose he received a termination notice without cause.

Although Hartney has had this position for only seven months, he says he’s so impressed with how much Town employees care about their jobs and community.

Hartney also says he got to work on some really great projects. One of which was working with Human Resources to change a current policy.

Despite getting that notice, Hartney will still be working for the next eight weeks. He says working for the Town has been an amazing journey.

We have contacted the Town to get more details on why it happened and if there will be a replacement. We haven’t heard back yet. There was a special council meeting this morning that had something to do with Hartney and his position. We will keep you updated.
