Planned power outage at Huntsville Hospital today

The Huntsville District Memorial Hospital is undergoing a planned power outage today. The hospital will be installing two new transformers to support the new CT scanner and any future critical equipment on emergency power. Diagnostics, Ambulatory and Planning Chief Executive, with Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare, Harold Featherston says they will have some power.

Featherston says this will affect certain services.

Elevators won’t be working as well, which will make the hospital not accessible to visitors in wheelchairs or those with mobile challenges. Featherston says if you need any treatment or care today, you should visit your family doctor or primary care provider if possible. The outage will start at 9am and run until 5pm.
