Health Unit warns beware the bat

Finding a bat in your home can be a frightening experience, but sometimes they can be very dangerous to your health as well.
Recently a bat was tested positive for rabies in Brighton, Ontario southeast of Toronto.
Muskoka Simcoe Health Unit representative Tanya Fehr says there have not been any cases of bats with rabies in Muskoka.
If you are scratched or bitten by a bat Fehr recommends catching it and bringing it to the Health Unit to be tested.
Rabies can take months to present symptoms and is deadly to humans.
