Wild Parsnip garners attention in Muskoka

 There are so many reasons to wear long pants when you’re in the brush, and a new one has just cropped up.
The Wild or Cow Parsnip is getting some media attention lately as land owners start noticing it in the Muskoka Region.
The plant is part of the carrot family and is a cousin of the Giant Hogweed, a plant that is well-known to many Ontarians.
Rebecca Ferguson with the conservancy says there are four known plants in this family that cause skin irritation.
The conservancy suggests having a professional remove the plant if you find it on your property.
