Police charge a truck driver for not slowing down

A Mississauga trucker has been charged after failing to slow down past a crash on Highway 11. On Saturday, Almaguin Highlands OPP, along with the South River/Machar Fire Department and Parry Sound EMS, were called to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 11 in Laurier Township.

While emergency crews were attending to the people in the car, a northbound transport truck sped past the scene at a high rate of speed. Police followed and stopped the trucker then charged his with careless driving and failing to have an accurate daily inspection report.

Meanwhile, the two people in the car from South Carolina were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
