The War Amps this month, are launching a summer-long life or limb saving message to kids. And that message; is to never be near lawn mowers.
For Roan Heck and Zoe Gottwald(above), it happened in a split second during a routine summer chore that led to their enrollment in The War Amps Child Amputee Program. Both youngsters lost a leg when playing too close to a lawn mower.
Rob Larman Director of War Amps Play Safe, Drive Safe Program, his message to anyone is “Don’t ever think accidents don’t happen, when you ignore safety rules or don’t take the steps necessary, then you will increase the odds of something happening.”
