Improper care and maintenance can lead to creosote buildup, which is highly combustible. To prevent a potential hazard have your chimney inspected. The Muskoka Lakes fire department is giving away a free smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm to homeowners who have their chimney checked within the past 30 days. You must also provide proof of receipt.
