MNR meets with municipal officials to disucss spring floods

It’s a meeting to discuss flood preparedness. The Ministry of Natural Resources is meeting with municipalities across the district today to outline this year’s emergency plan and review last year’s flood. The meeting is in Bracebridge. Meantime, with the expected warm temps, the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is asking residents in flood prone areas to start preparing their homes in case flooding does occur. The MNR also issued a flood outlook statement last week, warning residents of increased water flow in our rivers and streams in the next few days.
