Muskoka is getting an agri-food product and distribution centre

Muskoka North Good Food Co-op has as received $39,000 in FedNor funding. The funding will be used to hire a youth intern for a year. The funding will also provide support research and development costs to build a new facility. Chair of the co-op Kelly Picken says organization will be able to capitalize upon a niche opportunity and open a storefront for area producers to bring agri-food and value-added products for sale.

Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement made the recent announcement. Clement says this FedNor investment will provide a recent post-secondary graduate with valuable work experience here in the North while helping agri-food producers from across the region and Northern Ontario to grow.
