Town of Bracebridge warns about potential for flooding

Town officials advise that a potential for flooding exists within watercourses in Bracebridge, particularly the North Branch of the Muskoka River.

Due to localized flooding, Germania Road, from Waters Road to 1507 Germania Road is closed to
traffic. Cedar Beach Road from 1017 to 1073 Cedar Beach Road is also closed
to traffic due to the road being undermined.

Residents on rivers and lakes are advised to keep a close watch on water conditions and regularly check
for updated messages. Individuals should exercise caution around water bodies as river flows and water

levels continue to rise in the coming days. A potential for flooding exists due to current snow melt
conditions and forecasted rainfall. Residents may wish to take any further action necessary to secure or
protect property in flood prone or vulnerable areas.

The current forecast is calling for rainfall today, ranging from 15mm to 30mm by this evening. More
rain is expected until Wednesday, with daytime high temperatures in the range of 3oC to 10oC.
In conjunction with the MNR, the Town of Bracebridge will closely monitor weather and watershed
conditions and provide updates as conditions warrant.
