Haliburton wants Muskoka to join their talks with the Province about controversial OPP billing model

Haliburton County councilors want to team up with their Muskoka counterparts to talk with the Province about the controversial OPP billing model. Haliburton County Council was not satisfied with the answers they got from police about the model at their council meeting yesterday. OPP reps told them their concerns were being heard and would be taken to the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services. County Treasurer Laura Jenke said the OPP model is extremely flawed and that it needs to go back to the drawing board. Councillors did not think any of their questions were answered by OPP. Moving forward, they want a delegation with the Minister personally and they want Muskoka to be part of that delegation.
