The high school graduation rate has been released across the province and the Trillium Lakelands District School board is in the top one-third of English Language Public School Boards. Superintendent of Secondary School Improvement and Student Success, Bruce Barrett explains one of the ways our schools help students succeed:

Barrett says our school board’s focus on credit accumulation and quality is what sets our school board apart from the others. From the minute students enroll, he says the school tracks their credit accumulation to make sure they are as successful as they can be.

The 2014 numbers show an 82 per cent high school graduation rate for students in our school board who graduated within five years.

Barrett tells us what he attributes to that success:

Barrett says within TLDSB, there is an enormous amount of teacher effort that goes into re-engaging students and giving them a support system.
