3rd Annual Watt Public School Spring Soapbox Derby happens May 23rd

The 3rd Annual Watt Public School Spring Soapbox Derby & Fun Day happens Saturday, May 23rd. The event features teams of push carts competing in races into the early afternoon. Participants can bring their own push carts or are welcome to use one that’s provided. All the proceeds go to the students at Watt.

The event will also include music, entertainment, welcoming treats and coffee, BBQ lunch sale by the Windermere Lions Club (with proceeds going to the students at Watt), and much more.

NEW THIS YEAR:

Prizes will be awarded for soapbox racers built by teams at the opening parade in three categories:

1) Best Theme

2) Most Creative Use of Materials

3) Crowd Favourite

Prizes to be awarded include passes to the Water Park at Summer Water Sports in Minett, passes to Muskoka Heritage Place in Huntsville (including the museum, the Pioneer Village and the Portage Flyer), and passes to board the Island Queen Cruise in Parry Sound for a morning cruise.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.

The Opening Parade and Awarding of Prizes begins at 10:30 a.m.

All race participants are required to wear a helmet, so please bring your own. Families from other schools and homeschool families are invited to attend as well.
