Snow squall watch issued for parts of our region

A snow squall watch has been issued for our some parts of our region. The watch covers Bracebridge and Gravenhurst but not Huntsville. Brief bursts of heavy snow are likely this afternoon. A cold front is moving across Southern Ontario and is generating narrow but intense bands of snow. Snowfall amounts are only likely to be in the 2 to 5 cm range even under the heaviest snow bands, but visibilities could be briefly reduced to near zero. Motorists should thus be prepared for sudden very low visibility combined with accumulating snow on untreated roads, resulting in hazardous driving conditions in some locales. The cold front and snow bands will move east of the regions by late afternoon.
