A recent fundraiser has sparked a lot of attention about a local man’s struggle with multiple sclerosis. Jim Arbuckle was born and raised in Muskoka and has lived with MS for the past 17 years. For the past six, he has been permanently confined in a wheelchair. Arbuckle has a hard time getting around outdoors and his family is raising money to buy him a new wheelchair. His daughter Rebecca shares his story.

Rebecca says they found a specialty wheelchair that will help her Dad get around outside, but the cost is $15,000 and her family can’t afford it.

This past weekend the family hosted a fundraising hockey tournament and silent auction at the Baysville Arena and raised $7,327.65. With the tournament and other donations the family has raised over $10,000 so far, but still needs help raising the rest.
