Members of the 1984/85 Ready-Mix Midget Bears hockey team are looking forward to the weekend.
On Saturday at the Grace and Speed boat museum in Gravenhurst they are holding their 30th anniversary celebration in honour of their winning the All-Ontario Championship that year.

Organizer and the team’s former goalie Dave Veitch says it’s happening between 2 and 5pm. In 84/85, the team fought their way through games with Gravenhurst, Meaford and King City to finally beat Seaforth in the championships. It was quite an accomplishment, considering they weren’t expected to get past the first round that year. In fact, 3 of the 5 series they played that year they were losing, but came back to win the series. Veitch says everyone is welcome to attend this weekend’s anniversary. Snacks will be provided and everyone will be heading out to have dinner together afterwards. Cost is $15 per family. For more information, call Veitch at 705-801-5900
