Gravenhurst warns about door-to-door salespeople

The Town of Gravenhurst is letting everyone know it doesn’t licence salespeople to go door-to-door to sell services or rental agreements. The Town says you should know your rights before you open your door to salespeople. To help you with that, the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) gives you special rights when you buy something in your home that costs more than $50.  The Act, which went into effect April 1st, requires disclosure of specific information in regards to Water Heater Contract agreements. A salesperson must also be able to provide you with a mandatory Provincial Disclosure Form.
