OPP charge man for reporting false jeep theft

Police say a 19 year old Orillia man’s been charged after he made up a story about his jeep being stolen. Orillia OPP say that on February 9th, they were called because the man said his jeep had been stolen from his driveway. But on March 5th the vehicle was found on the ice on Lake Simcoe near Line 14 in Oro-Medonte.  The man was arrested and charged with public mischief after police investigated things further. He’ll be in Orillia court April 28th to face the charge.
