Stray dogs an issue in Bracebridge each Spring

Spring is seeing a lot of dogs wandering Bracebridge’s streets and the bylaw department wants them kept on a leash or on their own property. More calls about stray dogs are coming in and Chief Bylaw Officer Scott Stakiw tells Moose FM what he wants from owners…

Dog owners face a $200 fine if the Town has to pick up a dog and take it to the OSPCA, where they could face even more costs for impounding the animal.  For some people it can be scary encountering a stray dog and Stakiw reminds that it’s never good for a dog’s own safety if they are left to run loose in the streets.
