More details on super landfill coming to light

A recent report has shed more light on the super landfill that will one day service all of Muskoka. The new Rosewarne landfill which is being built on the west side of Rosewarne Drive near the current landfill in Bracebridge will process 950,000 tonnes of waste over the next 20 years. The District report states that a final approval for the landfill was secured in February. The project is massive and $13,600,000 ($13.6 million) is in the District’s Solid Waste Management budget for it alone. The current Rosewarne landfill will still be the place where residents can take their garbage though, even after the new one is built.
