It’s business as usual at the Bracebridge Public Library – even though it’s technically under a Fire Watch. On Friday, the library’s fire alarm system malfunctioned and wouldn’t stop ringing. The fire code stipulates a fire watch must go into effect – this means library staff have been checking for fire every hour in the absence of there being a working alarm. Today the alarm company is back in the library troubleshooting the broken alarm. Again, no programming has been cancelled and its safe for the public to visit the library, which is still operating under normal business hours.
