MAHC meeting on the future of local healthcare happens tonight in Bracebridge

The 2nd of three public meetings on local healthcare happens tonight in Bracebridge. Last night Gravenhurst residents attended the first one at the Gravenhurst Legion. The meetings are hosted by Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) and they look at four hospital options facing our communities. The first option would see a new acute care hospital built on a single new site in Muskoka, making the current two hospitals in Huntsville and Bracebridge surplus. Two other options would see one of the existing hospitals become an ambulatory site, while the other one would remain a hospital. A fourth option would keep both Huntsville and Bracebridge hospitals open as acute care sites. Tonight’s meeting happens between 7 and 9pm at the Bracebridge Sportsplex. Wednesday night the third meeting goes at the Huntsville Active Living Centre.
